How it works
Selective photothermolysis of pigment chromophores: melanin absorbs strongly at shorter wavelengths (532nm for epidermal pigment) and less strongly at 1064nm (dermal pigment and tattoo ink). The Q-switched laser delivers nanosecond pulses that shatter pigment particles into fragments small enough for lymphatic clearance.
